Be a role model
Being a role model means you do positive things to help yourself, others, and your community. You are setting an example for others to follow. Others can learn and duplicate your positive behaviors in their lives – this is called social learning. According to psychology, social learning is still one of the best methods for others to learn from. People learn best from seeing examples. The more people improve because of your examples, the more you contribute to your community.
Also, did you know that humans are born to do positive things and become productive individuals? When you are a role model, you express one of human potential's qualities.
No matter what happens, stay and do positive things. Do not allow others’ negativity to take your positivity away. For example, you still want to treat others positively, even though they might treat you negatively. You do not want to fight fire with fire. Fire does not put the fire out. It only makes it worse. If you allow others’ negativity to take your positivity away, it means others control you. Remember, as a human being, you are born to do positive things, not negative. The main reason why you might do negative things is because of external influences.
Build relationships
You must build connections and relationships with your neighbors and community members because your community is as strong as its members. A community only exists because of the individuals within it. The stronger the connections and relationships among the individuals, the stronger the community.
Learn to build your character and personality to meet and connect with others. Be friendly and not be afraid to talk to strangers. Everyone starts as a stranger. It is your courage to start the conversation, which is where understanding develops to build relationships. Once the connection is made, learn communication skills to communicate, build, and maintain the relationships.
Small acts of kindness
Engaging in small acts of kindness is an effective way to improve your community. Community success starts small and builds up. For example, if you see an elderly person who needs help carrying their groceries to their home, you can offer to help. Or, if you see trash around your community, you can pick it up and throw it away. Whenever you see someone or something that needs support, and you can do so, then do so.
Even though a few small acts of kindness might not make a big difference at the moment, if you do them daily, they will transform your community. You are also a role model when you conduct small acts of kindness. Small acts of kindness also nourish your spirit. You will start to feel that what you do matters and develop a sense of belonging within your community—that is spirituality.
Personal growth
You are a part of the community. When you improve, your community improves. Improving yourself makes a social impact at the individual level.

Nourishing your body gives you the physical energy and strength to help your community successfully. Nourishing your mind gives you the confidence to build successful relationships with others.
